Meet Teresa

Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of hats.

I’ve been a reporter for national magazines. I’ve written for corporations, universities, agencies and large non-profits. I was a garden blogger for Fiskars and TroyBilt. And I co-authored the book “Grocery Gardening” with three social media influencers.

Recently, I was California Communications and Outreach Manager for American Farmland Trust. My writing protected farmland, accelerated planet-friendly agriculture and increased farmers’ viability in the top food-producing state in the nation.

I also contributed to Prop 4’s successful passage on California’s November 2024 ballot. This is investing $10 billion in climate change-related infrastructure projects, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving resilience to extreme weather events. As AFT’s communications lead in the 17-member Food and Farm Resilience Coalition, I contributed to this initiative for years.

For the University of California’s Office of President, I was assistant editor of UC Food Observer. I reported on everything from food trends to unusual crops like millet and sorghum. Many articles were republished by PBS SoCal and industry publications.

To help fish and wildlife agencies nationwide deal with climate and funding challenges, I edited a quarterly newsletter for fish and wildlife agencies nationwide.

My career began doing public relations for luxury travel destinations, where I worked with leading food and travel reporters.

Early clients included Ocean Spray Cranberries, Welch’s Grape Juice and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
